Hi Janet here, I started dancing when my dad took me on the dance floor 50 years ago which means I have been dancing and fitness training all my life….. I started classes in Tap and Ballet and by 6 years old Ballroom and Latin American then Freestyle dancing and competed till I was 18……. After a few years working as a nurse, I returned to dance and studied Ballroom and Latin American at teaching level with the acclaimed Mr Eric Lashbrooke ( former world Ballroom and Latin American Champion) qualifying as a dance teacher in 1989 with the Allied Dance Association……… Since then I have studied: Classical Sequence, Salsa, Tango, Swing and more….. First running Dance Steps in Southport which later became JLC Dance and Janet and John Adventures……. To succeed in the world of dance it is all about knowledge of your subject, practice and understanding the entertainment factor! I have had the privilege to know, work with, coach, or learn from these people: Iris Mayers, Margaret Redmond, Eric Lashbrooke, Keith Morris, David Bullen , Phil Kaila, Andon Du Beck, Len Goodman, Roy Walker, Dora Bryant, Anne Noland …………

Dance Associations Memberships: United Kingdom Alliance of Professional Teachers of Dance, International Dance Teachers Association, Ballroom Dancers Federation International, National Dance Teachers Association, British Ballroom Dancers Federation, Protecting Sport Dance Promoters Association……….

Dance Work over the last 30 years work has included: Teaching, coaching and choreographing in schools, gyms, and colleges, including Lancaster University, Rossell School, Dance coach at The Blackpool Tower Ballroom, Latin American and Flamenco coach for Wise Moves, Latin American and Tango coach and lecture at the Tate Northern, as well coaching couples from France, Germany and China for competition work in Ballroom and individual tuition for medals, teacher training and social dancing …………….. Dance performance work includes: Latin American Dancer and choreographer on the “Swirl” instillation for Brazilian Artist, “Vilenska Soules, TV work BBC, ITV, Chancel 4 & 5 , Japanese TV and and am currently working with the Blackpool council on the Museum project SHOW TOWN…… Achievements: Janet came runner up in the Dance Today Dance Teacher of the Year 2017 Awards

Fitness Work includes: Instructor at Royal Clifton Leisure Centre Southport, Zumba Instructor at Fulwood and Westview Leisure Centres, Preston, Zumba, and Pilates for JLC Dance, Zumba Instructor at Senze gym Blackpool.

In 2018 Janet started fell walking with John and this is now a passionate part of her fitness regime.
