Janet’s philosophy “empower yourself with time and effort and anyone can dance.

Hi Janet here,

I started dancing when my dad took me on the dance floor 50 years ago which means I have been dancing and fitness training all my life….. I started classes in Tap and Ballet and then Ballroom and Latin American and Freestyle dancing and competed till I was 18….. To succeed in the world of dance you need to be fit and active understanding how the body works and what is safe to put in it…….

This means I have been working out for 50 years learn exercises that are safe and putting together plans to keep my body fit……….. After a few years working in another carrier, I returned to dance and studied Ballroom and Latin American at teaching level with the acclaimed Mr Eric Lashbrooke ( former world Ballroom and Latin American Champion) qualifying as a dance teacher in 1989 with the Allied Dance Association……… Since then I have studied: Classical Sequence, Salsa, Tango, Swing and more….. First running Dance Steps in Southport which later became JLC Dance……..

I am now a Fellow and Examiner with the UKA, Fellow with the IDTA, a British Dance council Adjudicator and a level 3 PT.
